LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENT OF DCBI SCIENTISTS IN ETHIOPIA.
1. Establishment of a DCBI molecular Parasitology research laboratory
at Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia for the study of malaria and trypanomomiasis;
2. Establishment of field ecology research laboratories in Southern
Ethiopia and Northern
Ethiopia for the collection and study of malaria trypanosoma parasites
and vectors;
3. Establishment of a Health Officers/Physicians Assistant program in
collaboration with
the Ethiopian Ministry of Defense for the training of former military
corpsmen;
4. Conducted lectures for anatomy and physiology courses to health personnel
enrolled
in the newly developed physician assistant program in the Health Science
Institute of
he Armed Porces of Ethiopia;
5. Development of high school curriculum and establishment of instructional
program for
280 science, mathematics and english high school teachers from 20 high
schools in
Region 1 (Tigray) and 1 high school in Addis Ababa;
6. Presentation of modern workshops to technicians and scientists in
the field of
agriculture and health science in Addis Ababa;
7. Conducted symposia on curriculum development in sciences;
